Taylors’ Nook is a beautiful and charming 3-bedroom cottage with a magnificent view of the Southwest River.

Located on nearly two acres of private, treed property, the cottage is conveniently located just 10 minutes from Cavendish and Kensington, and 20 minutes from New Glasgow, Thunder Cove, Rustico and more.

The cottage features several decks to enjoy the incredible view and the large private yard. Take in the morning sun on a rocking chair out front and the most beautiful sunsets while roasting s’mores at night. There’s plenty of seating on the back deck for both dining and relaxing outdoors and the vine-covered gazebo makes for the perfect hideaway to enjoy a good book.

Inside the charming yellow cottage, the main floor offers a spacious entranceway, two living spaces, a fully-equipped kitchen, a bedroom with queen bed, a full bathroom and laundry. The living room features high-ceilings, an electric fireplace, and offers lots of space for guests to gather. Connect to your own Netflix, Prime, Disney etc. on the smart TV or play one of the many board and card games supplied. In the kitchen you’ll find everything you need and more for cooking and serving meals, including a large lobster pot. Next to the kitchen is the den, which seems to be everyone’s favourite place to hangout. It’s the coolest spot in the house with a heat pump / air conditioner and has a great little desk space for setting up a laptop and getting some work done.

Upstairs you’ll find a large master bedroom with a queen bed and a balcony that boasts the best view the cottage has to offer. A TV is setup with Chromecast and all bedside lamps have USB ports and electrical outlets. The bunk room across the hall sleeps 3 in a twin-over-double bunk bed and if you’re travelling with kids, we have a great selection of toys, children’s books, a playpen, booster seat and potty seat. All bedrooms have fans as well as plenty of closet and dresser space.

The location can’t be beat as it’s close to everything yet offers complete seclusion and space to play. There are tons of restaurants and activities nearby, including deep sea fishing in New London and Stanley Bridge, sea-doing, kayaking, paddle-boarding, parasailing, mini-putt, Sandspit Amusement Park, Shining Waters Water Park, the Cavendish Boardwalk, Anne of Green Gables, and of course, beaches in every direction. Just one minute down the road you’ll find Lucy Maud Montgomery’s birthplace, Village Pottery and Sou’West, a well-known, river-front pub with good food and super fun trivia nights.

Nook is defined as “a corner or recess, especially one offering seclusion or security,” and Taylors’ Nook is just that; It’s the perfect place to retreat and enjoy the natural beauty and the many amenities the Island has to offer.
